1 John 2:4-6 (ESV)
Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
When we walk as Christ walked the fruit of the spirit will be evident in our life - love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-24 (NKJV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Do we show patience with others? Do we seek to show kindness in every action of our life? Are our intentions the best for everyone we meet? Are we more concerned about the needs of others over our own?
Christ is our example and our goal in life is to seek to follow the example of Christ. May we seek to “walk in the same way in which he walked.” May we show the love of God in our life, in every action we take. When are focused on serving others and showing the light of God in our lifes our motives will be pure and actions will be those that will direct others to God. May our constant prayer be that the light of God’s word will shine in our every action giving glory to God.
