Reading for Today - I Peter 1:1-2 - To those who are elect exiles
1 Peter 1:1-2 (ESV)
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
God is calling all men to obey and serve him. God is calling all to salvation. Peter writes his first epistle to the elect exiles. Through the working of God's word, delivered by Holy men of God through the power of the Holy Spirit, men are called and changed today. God has chosen all those who obey His word. Through the word of God delivered by the Spirit, we learn about how to obey Jesus Christ and how we can access Chist's blood. We are called for obedience. Thanks be to God that He has provided us salvation and grace through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
